Who We Are

Mountain State Home Services is built on a lifetime of hands-on work, problem solving, and a love for building things the right way. I spent 10 years as a machinist, where I learned the value of precision, patience, and doing every job with care. I then spent 4 years as a CNC programmer and manager, planning jobs, leading teams, and making sure every detail came together correctly. After years in that career, I decided to follow my passion for home projects, custom spaces, and practical craftsmanship.

Outside of work, I stay busy with the same kind of hands-on projects and outdoor adventures that inspire my business. I’ve remodeled my own garage into a fully equipped workspace, rebuilt a 1999 KX250 from the frame up, built a custom off-road lawn mower for a friendly competition, and spend my winters ice fishing with extra gear so I can introduce new people to the sport. Whether it’s home projects, motors, or time outdoors, I enjoy building, fixing, and creating things that are useful, fun, and built to last.

If you’re looking for someone who brings the same care, creativity, and hands-on experience to your home projects, Mountain State Home Services is ready to help bring your ideas to life.

Garage remodel and custom bench

Shortly after buying my home in 2024, I completely remodeled my garage to create a home base for my projects. The remodel included insulating and sheeting the walls and ceiling, grinding and epoxy coating the concrete floor, installing a mini-split air conditioning system, and adding plenty of outlets and lighting. I also built a custom workbench around my toolbox to keep everything organized and easy to use. Many of the photos on this site show different details from my own garage and the kind of practical, custom work I enjoy bringing to life.

1999 KX250

One of my favorite personal projects was rebuilding a 1999 KX250 from the frame up. I stripped it down completely, blacked out nearly every detail, and rebuilt the motor, transmission, and suspension to bring it back to life. Projects like this are a perfect example of the kind of hands-on problem solving, mechanical skill, and attention to detail I enjoy bringing into everything I work on.

Custom Off Road Lawn Mower

Another fun project was building an off-road lawn mower for a friendly competition. I upgraded it with ATV tires, a welded differential, and a custom exhaust. It was built mostly for fun, but it held up long enough to win the competition

Ice Fishing

In the winter, one of my favorite ways to spend time outdoors is ice fishing. I especially enjoy introducing new people to it, so I keep a larger setup with plenty of spare gear to help friends and family get out on the ice and enjoy the experience. It’s another hobby that combines preparation, problem solving, and a love for the outdoors.
